Hi, brand new here, first time with a 2005 4 stroke supercharged sportster, just purchased it from from florida, ran it down before i bought it for half an hour in a lake, no problems..brought it back here ran for 40 min hard with no overheating . Second time out after ten minutes of 5000 rpm plus i got a steady beep. i shut it down for 10 minutes and started it up running slowly for 30 min back to shore keeping it at 2500 rpm . no problems and no warning sound. As soon as i got it up with higher revs again warnin sound came back on immediately. A couple suggestions would be great before i take it to a local dealer. Coolant was a bit low in the fill tank. Oil was clean no moisture..motor sounds great and LOTS of power...

Its possible that the coolant was a bit low and it allowed it to not dispense the heat properly. If it still does it I would check the temp. sensor. Be sure it has a good connection on the sender connection too.

Wow that was a fast reply, thanks i will check the sensor and would i be able to purge any air pockets the same way you would in an automobile coolin system by running it with the rad cap off and hopefully the air would expand out of the system.?
