OK, let's try this again. I'm new to this deal, my first post dissapeared into thin air!
My '05 sportster is leaking between the hulls under the swim platform (under the rub rail). I've verified this by backing the boat in in stages, watching as different parts are submerged. I can definitly see water running down the inside of the hull, coming from a couple of places up at the top/bottom hull joint once the rub rail is underwater while on the trailer.
I have been told not to use 3M 5200, I've also been told to use it to reseal the hulls together. Silicone or 5200??
Rivets or SS screws?? Hard to find rivets long enough to go through the rub rail & both hulls. If I switch to screws, how long, what size? I haven't ever worked with fiberglass before other than fixing dings on a surfboard. So I'm all ears...:bigear:
