I hope someone out there can take a second to diagnose a problem I'm having with my 2005 Seadoo RXP. Put it into winter storage last season after being winterized at the dealer and everything was running perfect. Dropped it into the water for the first time this summer, last week. Ran for 5 minutes just idling around the canal and the CHECK ENGINE light came on with a loud beeeeeeep. Took the lanyard out, put it back in and the message was gone. Went into the bay and got a little speed going, boom check engine light. Basically, every 4-5 minutes the CHECK ENGINE light/loud beep will occur. Now, I can get her up to full speed, 7800 rpms, but once that check engine light/ loud beep hits afer 4 mins or so, it cuts my rpms & the engine starts getting real rough sounding and the ski starts vibrating hard. Almost some sort of limp mode. But whenever I pull the lanyard, after I get the beeeeep, and put the lanyard back in, it gives me another 4-5 minutes of full power until the next beeep occurs? Rinse, repeat. Now,I can tell you that my speedometer has completey gone out, but all the other gauges work, lake temp, engine temp, rpms. I have no idea if this is connected to the problem or not but just thought I'd mention it. Actually, first the speedometer was going nuts bouncing around from 20, 40,15, all over the place, then went out. Any light you could shed on this problem would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
