Ok now that I found a forum that has a good base of seadoo mechanics.. I have a 260 horse supercharged seadoo I can't seem to get ahead with.
I replaced the blowed motor with a reman long block.
I need to know the proper technique for checking the oil level. As I never get a consistent reading. Over the past 3 trips to the lake for testing I started off with 3.5 quarts.. Then each time since I never get a good reading I'm up to 5 quarts.. Which is way too much I know.. But I love wasting 12 dollar a quart amsoil....
At idle the ski is fine. As soon as I give it any throttle the oil light comes on goes to limping.. Now if I constantly play with the throttle I can get the engine up to 4-5 k. If you stop variating the throttle it throws the oil light..
After this little run about the oil was hot.. So I decided I'd take it back and tear it apart before i tear something up.
Concerns...
-Having to make a trip to the lake every time I wanna run the ski longer than 60 seconds... Fuel is racking up... Any alternatives?
-Oil dipstick doesn't go all the way into the block when it's matched to the intake..
-looks like the hull is filling up with oil... No bueno... leaks somwhere?
-The top of the supercharger is wet with oil...
So can I use cheap oil till I diagnose the leak?
What should my next course of action be?
