2005 rxt got sunk!!

We are working on a 2005 RXT that was sunk, found the steering cable lock nut to be broken and the seal and half moon washers gone. so the leak is fixed. Now we are tracing down the non-start issue. We get one long beep when the lanyard is attached, nothing else. i have full battery. load tested good. i have power going to the computer, but it seems the comp. is bad. prob. got wet. any suggestions rather than chasing down wires? i pulled the plugs and jumped the solenoid to get the water out. maybe let it dry for a couple days then try again? help much appreciated!:cheers:

Probly wires corrosion & wet. Fuse holders filled with moisture, same with e-box, harnesses,mag houseing, switches & post connectors, starter........ect...............ect. Bill

yes yes yes, i am going to let er dry out a few days, then come back to it. thanks for the quick reply. pretty sure this boat is toast, but we will see in a couple days! working on a rx di bog issue now. filter and injectors i believe. maint. light on and then the bogging starts. poured over the forums on the issue and it does not look good. thanks all.

1 beep indicates that you're using the wrong lanyard. Also, you'll probably have to remove and drain the water from the intake plenum.

it was the lanyard that came with the boat when the customer dropped it off. i initailly thought the same thing. we drained the plenum first, then pulled the plugs and jumped the solenoid to get the water out. bad deal. i will call and verify the lanyard. customer stated he had it trying to start from this particular lanyard. ?? thanks for the input man.

i would spray some wd 40 or somthing that absorbs water becuase although you got most of the water out there is still moisture in there and thats what kills motors causing rust and corrosion.

one beep def means wrong lanyard. it happens to me all the time.
