I ride my Seadoo about once per week, but everytime I go to start it, it takes 5-6 seconds. My 2 cycle weed wacker and chain saw start faster than that. The spark plugs are clean and the gap is correct. I would think it should start much quicker. With the choke lever pulled out, I've tried giving it no gas, a little gas and a lotta gas, and it still takes a few seconds. Is this normal?

If it only takes a few seconds, and then it runs fine after that... I wouldn't worry.

Since it's a newer engine... before it can fire, it has to push fuel into the lines, and build pressure for the injectors.

Mine also takes about 5 seconds to start when cold. Always starts and runs like a top, so I would say it's pretty normal when cold. When warm mine starts right up with no lag time
