2005 3D 800engine light

Engine light comes on after 3-4 minutes, if I remove the key and start it again it stays off for 3-4 minutes then comes back on:again if I remove the key (even after 30 minutes)and restart engine light stays off(3-4 minutes) .If I had an over heating issue wouldn't the light remain off.
Also at full throttle I get hesitation,if i stay at 3/4 throttle no hesitation
Can anyone help.

the computer is picking up a fault, you need to get it read, if it was overheating the buzzer should be going off, when you shut it off and allow the gauge to go out it will reset the fault and allow it to run normal again until it sees the fault again, full throttle hesitation is because it is in limp mode, you could have a faulty voltage regulator, then again it could be a few different things, get the fault read.
