2005 215 RXP runs rough.

New to PWCs but not to maintenance. Sudden onset rough running about an hour after adding 87 octane instead of 91. Draining all fuel now but where do I go from here. No faults codes at all. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Drained all the fuel and replaced it with 93 octane. New plugs installed as well. Seems to run smoothly on the trailer. The coils are original. Should I change those as well?

I generally don't change things until they need changed other than maintenance items. Coils usually are pretty reliable, unlike spark plugs. It will run fine on 87, doubt you will even notice a difference.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve read elsewhere that using 87 will cause detonation and the ECM will retard the timing and make it run lousy. Is that not true?

On a stock machine there is very little difference that I have ever noticed. If you're looking for top performance on modded machine, I'm sure there will be a difference.
