So i just bought a 2004 speedster 200 and one engine idles about 1000 to 1500 rpm's higher than the other. Does anybody know why and how to fix it?

The idle speed of the 4TEC engine is computor controlled. Check where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body. There should be slack in the cable when at idle. If not then adjust cable till there is. If there is slack then you probably have a idle speed control motor or throttle body issue that a dealer should look at. I say this assuming that both engines run good and the difference in idle is the only issue.

Both engines seem to run fine they rev up fast and sound good. The boat would struggle getting up on plane and had a top speed of 49 so i figured it needed wear rings. I took the pumps off and found two different impellers and the wear rings didnt look too bad. So im getting new solas impellers and wear rings. Also i think the carbon seals might be bad how do i tell if they need replaced? Is there anything else that could cause this?
