Flow Problem

I have the same boat with a simular problem. I would look at the wear rinf in the impellor. I read a thread which someone had this problem. What mine does is it will not go forward on a hole shot ,, from a stand still position. It's like it has cavitation. I have to slowly increase throttle to get up to speed. Other wise the engine races.
Help have you found a web site where I can get a shop manual on a 2004 Sportster 4 TEC?
Thanks

It sounds like you need a new wear ring in the jet pump. Here is an idea for you.

Here is some more information on the "Premium Membership";

It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances.
