well havent been around in a while havent done much riding
so I put my gal on the back and rode fore an hour,
then on the way in I hear a squeal noise lets just get it to the ramp,
then the loss of power and down she goes try to restart wont turn over,
lets swim it in--FUN--
get it home turns over check oil filter clean--charger had new riva washers
fly wheel new ARP bolts with lock tight,
wish now I had never tuched it never got any gains worth talking about anyway,

so..ever open up that air intake?

Maybe you should just trade it in on a gti?

the air intake filter i took off and there was no difference, and i went one farther
and took all of it off and ran an open SC and that made no difference so it all went
back on,
whats a good running good looking 04 worth?

If you saw no additional rpm improvement after removing the air intake...that shoulda raised some serious flags.

So...your sc had a touchdown. Did you have that thing rebuilt after you bought it?

I'm not trying to find fault in what you've done...just trying to understand what happened, when and why.

You set-up is a proven performer...for it not to show similar results means something is/was off....and from the numbers you posted...way off.

I think so to Red2Blue kind of dis hartining, that charger was sapose to have 9 hours
on it humm think ill send it back to jetski planet with a little note,
when all was done the first time with the 14-19 prop she barried the tac @ 8150
instantly yesterday the tack was around 7700 and my speed showed 70 no GPS this time
so I dont get it,
the intake system up to the manifold has this aluminum powdery stuff barring disintegration, if any made it
to the cylinders is it ring time?
I did a compression check 125 before she was 145
would the bunged up charger be the reason the compression is a bit off?

Not neccessarily ring time. When mine touched down it was...60mph-0 in 50'...and wouldn't crank after that, so while it did burn up my wheel and housing..the clean up wasn't all that bad. Hoses...throttle-body...ic...housing/manifold....I was very lucky.

Chances are your charger had more than 9hrs on it...my bet...gradual loss of performance in spite of improved air would be a decent indication of the slip was off and failing...prolly from the start. Also an indication of more than 9hrs on the charger would be bearing failure. Have you taken the sc off the motor and had a looksee at it?...made sure everything was still there?

Dunno 'bout you loss of compression.

got the charger off and lookin in some finns are gone some bent some cracked and bent
tea spoon on pieces fell out of IC all the things to make one happy,
will never be able to see if anything is stuck in the IC, if they are there i hope
they stay there, gray dust seems to have stoped at the IC,
jamed up on cash right now so she will sit for most likely till spring,
Ive got 2 roof jobs to do but new york state my house taxes 8,400
for a new build 1600 sq ft trying to sell it cant aford it don't even have a C of O on it yet,
maybe that X-charger will wake it up,
the best was 8100 @ gps 70.2 that x-sc better turn more R's or she wont be going faster.

i didn't open the sc i think they are gone the shaft moves thats why the tuch down
is there room for bearing frag to drop in the motor by the gear or is everything normaly
pumped through the sc???

There is room...which is why it's so important to find all the parts...still on the shaft hopefully.

What happened to mine...the upper cage broke allowing all the top bearing to group..allowing touchdown. The heat was so intense and it happened so fast all 40 needle bearings were fused to the gear...never lost 1. I did find 99% of the top cage and of course all my bearings. Like I said...I was lucky. I had to feel the drive gear inside my motor by hand...just to convince myself that the slop in the sc shaft didn't chip a tooth or anything.

If you aren't lucky...it'll mean a complete tear down.

room for thouse balls to get through,
I thought they were needle bearings,
I may be good to go I hope
plug the SC hole and ride it raw:leaving:

Heh...you're not looking close enough. To the lower left of the broken cage....the needle bearings are still there....right inside the gear. You can see the marks of the needle bearings ends on the face of the washer that surrounds the ball bearings.

oh all right I see them,
man mine seems tight at the gear,
what ever went seems to be deeper in or at least thats what Im hopeing for.
