Hi so just got off water with new toy.
Took it for a ride against friends gtx . Both supercharged.
I top out at 50mph and 6800 rpm
His tops out at 67mph and about 7500rpm.
Any idea what problem could be. Mechanical issue or computer issue.
And advice much appreciated!!!!!!!

Also, check the supercharger, and if there's an issue with it rebuild it BEFORE a piece of it gets sucked into your engine.

Rule of thumb on early 4-tec supercharger rebuild is 2 years or 100 hrs (whichever comes first). If your supercharger has never been rebuilt then it has the original ceramic washers which are a ticking time bomb. The supercharger rebuild will also update it to the metal washers which are a little bit more durable.

Only if the impeller blades were scraping the inside of the wear ring like maybe a bad pump bearing. Aftermarket impeller can definitely affect top speed and wot rpm.

SuperCharger i would look at first, check slip and Jet pump Bearings, i like to remove jet-pump check how well it spins smoothly and check your impeller, i've lost almost 3 mph with new aftermarket impeller but gain acceleration, smooth and no cavitation.

Any mods done to the ski what do plugs look like sounds like the intercooler might be leaking.is there water in the hull are the opas lifting up or staying down is the engine running smooth wot or breaking up slightly

The first thing is to just change plugs they may look fine and idle fine but miss above 5000 6000 rpms.like before check slip of supercharger.also run it with a volt meter attached to battery make sure charging system isn't over charging and sensing a problem.

Checked plugs,and supercharger
Plugs I'll change.supercharger if I push super hard I can get it to move a bit.is the oil normal?

Looks like you are cooking some oil make sure your oil level is in the middle of dipstick number one and number two if you can spin your supercharger by hand your clutch is slipping so I would say your supercharger is time for a rebuild

Display says 90. Guy told me is was rebuilt about 40hours ago. Not sure if you can doctor the display hours but seems rough for 90 hours.

2004 with 90 rough hours means 40 hours ago could be anywhere from 1 to
17 yrs ago, would be nice to know when. I seem to recall that the plastic bearing retainers
were time sensitive, uv ??, hence the two years.
I rebuilt mine, 2005 GTX SC, the first time at 53 hrs 5 yrs, to get rid of the ceramic washers.
The second time was at 128 hrs 15 yrs, (73 hrs & 10 years since first rebuild), a friend of mines
went out & I decided I had tempted fate long enough. It is stored inside or under metal roof,
ridden gently by old guy. Harsh load changes, ie getting air, really stress the SC.

Supercharger Maintenance 210 wake 430
"A month later the plastic bearing retainer in the bearing let go."

Changed plugs took it out again.toped out at about 50mph and 6800rpm.
Supercharger looked ok.engine doesn't rev up past 6800. Friend has same machine so I'm comparing performances.
