2004 GTX 185 bogs then takes off fine

So this happened at the end of last year and once this year. Because she's a 2004 I try not to beat on her too much so I take off slowly at first then once she's warmed up it's all good. The only way to describe the situation is it feels like something is holding it back then she takes off fine. Like a parking brake or something. What would cause that hesitation? I haven't checked anything yet but I will take a look at the impeller and wear ring tonight.

change your spark plugs

But I just changed them when I winterized it. I will pull them to see if they are fowled. Impeller and wear ring both looked fine.

Quick question for you. I did put in new plugs but was hesitant to really tighten them down in fear of stripping them out. Is that even possible? I mean I know its possible but I would never really put all my might into tightening them but maybe I didn't tighten them down enough. Thoughts?
