Hey everyone,

I have a 2003 XP that we bought that doesn't beep when you put the tether in. We assumed it needed a new tether and post but when we called a pwc shop and the guy was almost certain that it was the solenoid. When we put a screwdriver on the solenoid it will turn over but not start. Could it be a bad tether? Bad post? Or a bad solenoid?

Any help and/or tips to try would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

They don't but we turned it over by putting a screwdriver over the solenoid posts and so the battery might have been drained from that. I'm out of town until Sunday so we'll have to charge the battery and see if the gauges do come on

No the gauges don't move at all. Battery is fully charged and tried with lanyard on and off. No beeps at all.

Sounds like the MPEM isn't powering up. Check all connections are clean and tight.

If you push the start stop button a bunch of times quickly without the lanyard connected do the gauges power up?

No again nothing powers up and it seems like the mpem is the culprit.. how do I check that there is power to the mpem and do I just check the connections by pulling the boxes out?

Checked all the relays and they are all good.. pulled boxes out and they seemed oily where they connected to the mpem, not sure if that would have any effect?
