2003 Seadoo Sportster 150 Tipping?

What are the chances of this boat tipping with large wakes. I went out to the lake last week and the water was real choppy and I got a little nervous riding around in that condition of water.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Chances are low, they are wide for there size, and have a low centre of gravity.
If they do tip, it won't sink because of the foam.
Any boat can get hit by a freak wave and capsize but the chances are fairly low.

What about hauling ass in big wakes? Is that dangerous?

Experience?....

Experience is the key to successful boating with these things. Your sportster is pretty much like a big jet ski.

For me, I've lived on the water all my life, so it just seems to come naturally but, when your in choppy water or large swells, then you have to know where to position the nose of the boat. Anyone riding in the trough can roll. When you nose in, you can use the throttle to make the kind of push you need to challenge the swell. You can fly over the top or just glide over it.

But, experience on the water (driving by the seat of your pants) is what will see you through...........:cheers:

Experience and seat of your pants is good for people that have been around boats a long time, but if in doubt, or your not comfortable slow down and wear your life jacket. 99.9% of all boat incidents end in a drowning if the individual wasn't wearing a life jacket. If your not experienced, I recommend a boat safety course to help you learn the correct way to navigate the waters. Key thought is it's not just your life but your passengers too that you are responsible for on the water. Check the Coast Guard Auxiliary in your area for a boating coarse. It's a inexpensive way to be safe.
