I just bought this GTI LE for $750 bucks off a buddy of mine. The hull is in perfect condition inside and out. However, the Seadoo when starting gets "hydrolocked" and when I take the spark plugs out water comes out of the carbs slowly while the holes where the spark plugs are throws a watery oil mix. The guy said he left the breather box off and water got in through there. compression is good but what should I do now? Thanks! I'm 19 and have little knowledge of this 717 motor.

Well it is just locking up when I go to hit the startt. Battery is just fine and when the spark plugs are out it turns over to crank. So I don't know if it is "hydrolocked" or not I just figured...

No. my 1996 spi can start without a waterline hooked up and since this is a 2 stroke i assumed it would run without water for a bit.

Oh and if it helps when I start it and it doesnt want to turn the crankshaft it just stops and lets out 1 beep. I hope its something simple!

Bottom line is,,, it can NOT be a hydro-lock issue if there is no water. Since it is not on the hose and not sitting on water, can't be hydro-locking.

I would do a compression test to get a clue to the internal condition of the engine. If there is no water and it is locking up, then something is for sure wrong. Could be oil/fuel or combination of them.

When cranking NOTHING should come out of the carbs. This alone tells us there is likely a timing issue.

Thus, a compression test would be helpful...
