2003 GTX wakeboard edition with about 90 hours. If you start it cold and give it a bit of throttle it will go into limp mode, low oil will be displayed and the warning buzzer will sound. If you let it idle for 5 minutes then it will take off normally. Before that time you will have to shut it off, unplug the key and try it again but you will have to wait that full 5 minutes before you get a positive response. Had it to the dealer, they've changed oil sensors, still does it so now they say I must have some debris down in the bottom of the engine that gets picked up by the oil pump and until it gets dislodged, it will always start in limp mode. Seems strange to me especially when we have discovered this warm up time period of 5 minutes. They said there has been no computer codes to address and now the only fix is to pull the engine, flush out the "debris" change the oil pump down under there as well all to the tune of about $1500. They have tried changing the oil numerous times in the hope of sucking out this debris. The whole debris thing is really odd to me. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge the oil level sensor is in the oil tank so it would not have anything to do with debris in the motor. I could be wrong because I'm new but that doesn't make sense to me either.

And if there is debris in the oil system somewhere that is not letting it pump oil then I think you would have already seized the motor. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Sounds like a typical stealership to me. But hopefully some of the long timers will have some ideas.
