Hey guys,
Ok s I just got back from the lake. I was out for about 3-4 hours when all of a sudden the get beeping and the red oil light blinking. It beeped at first when I hit a wake, then it did it every second, on then off and back on. So went like, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep and every time it beep the oil light went on. at first it was at higher rpm's, but then it did it when I limped at 10-15 mph back to the trailer. I stopped as soon as I heard it, checked the oil and the big tank was all but 1/2 gallon full and the little tank looked to be 1/2 to 3/4 full. I filled the big tank up before I went out as I always do and everything was fine for hours, or 1/2 a tank. So I don't think it the pressure no being there, and it was a good 15 minutes back to dock, so I dont know if its the oil pump or not. The boat ran fine the whole time as far as I could tell. No extra smoke or smell or anything. So what do you think it is? Maybe the float in the little tank? Anyways any help would be great :D

I've had similiar issues for a while on my 2002 speedster, just yesterday I started tearing down the oil system and found a clogged tube.

A long time ago I did have a bad sensor, the float thing would flash red at the top and the bottom, was annoying. And my experience was exactly the same with hitting waves and the beeper going off, that's just cause the float is obviously moving up and down.

I would open the top reservoir and just fill it to the brim with oil, close it and see if that fixes your issue. Personally I think it needs to be "primed". That will surely make it go away temporarily, but if it comes back, then i would pull the main tubes from the oil pressure system to see if they're clogged.

I also found one of my caps on the big oil tank was loose, therefore making the whole system lose pressure, check those first.

Hey thaks for the info. Ill try that tonight and see what happens. I did check the caps and they were all tight, but ill fill up the little tank and see if it goes away. At first it happened every wake we hit but just a few minutes later it was constant beeping, I just hope its not the pump :-(

Ok so i went out and filled the little take full and turned the boat on ( I had the water hose hooked up ) and I ran it for about a minute or so and the beeping and light never came back on. Did I not run it long enough? Im new to this and dont want to mess the boat up, but i think I remember the boat mech telling me to run water to it if I was to ever run it out of the water. Also I unscrewed the little take cap so It wasnt tight at all and I never got any oil to come out. I did the same with the big tank and also never got oil to come out. I can see the oil in the big tank and it will have to rise about 2 feet to get to the top of the opening and I never saw it move/rise at all. So if it was the float just being funny, then why didn't I get any oil over flow? Did I not run the boat long enough? Will it take more than 1 minute os so to pressurize? I really don't want to mess the motor up if its not getting oil due to a bad pump, but does the pump even have anything to do with the pressure? Thanks for any help guys!

Remember, i'm no expert, but I've dealt with many of the same issues. If the oil light isnt' blinking/beeping, then your engine has oil where it needs it, there's no need to worry. 1 minute is not enough time to do anything. I can run my seadoo speedster 240hp for a half hour on the lake before it burns through that oil. Plus the pressurization system works on a pump, which is based on RPM of the engine, the higher the RPM the more pressure. At idle it might not be enough pressure to do anything, even at 2000rpm it might not be enough, i don' tknow.

I did find out that my filter in the big oil tank was clogged, causing what seemed to make it require tons of pressure, perhaps that's your problem. pull the dip out of the big oil tank, and clean the bottom of the filter, or replace it, i can't imagine they are that expensive. Cleaning mine seemed to work though.

Hey Ross, Thanks for all the help. You have been the only person to even try to help me. So I will check and see if my big tank is clogged tomorrow. I think its ok because the little tank was all but full when I put oil in it to the top. So It had oil in the little tank. I took thew cap off while it was running and when I moved the float, it made the same beeping as it did when I had it in the water, so I hope it was just the float stuck or faulty. Im going to buy a new one just in case, im sure its not that much money. So if the small tank has oil, does that feed the motor directly? Like no pump needed, or does the pump take if from there? Like am I fine as long as there is oil in the little take or if the pump goes bad it wont put oil to the motor for the little tank? I dont want to blow the motor.....

Ok so I took the screen off of the big tank and it had a massive film on it, so Im betting that was the problem. Ill find out next week when I hit the lake again :-)
