I recently bought a 2002 sea doo gtx for almost nothing from a buddy. When he owned it nothing was wrong with it, but one day we took it out and it completely shut off after he hit a little wave. The battery is also brand new. Whenever I plug in the key nothing happens for about 5 seconds, then it beeps one loud beep for 3 second, then nothing for about 5, and then it does the 3 second beep again. After that nothing will happen for about 60 second (i havent actually counted lol) and then it will make one 3 second beep then nothing until about another 60 seconds it will repeat.

If anyone could give me any type of advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Your key post may have crapped out on you. It happened on my 97 GTX. It would sometimes beep, it would shut off, do other weird things.

I have two of these skis, and I have experienced the same problem. I'd launch my wife out, and while she's waiting for me to get my ski off the trailer, her ski would suddenly die, and the information center is dead (key on the post). I took the seat off and wiggled the bow side connector on the MPEM. Instantly, the information center is back to life, I could hear a relay click, and I get my two beeps.

Disconnect those two connectors on the bottom of them MPEM and hit both sides with Deoxit. Be careful not to break the dog-ears on the connector. They break if you look at them the wrong way, and the poorly designed part is $43.00.
