I am not familiar w SeaDoos, but rebuilt the carbs on my buddies GTX 951 and replaced the steering cable. Now the machine is not cooling. I checked the owing on the pump cooling and blew air through all of the line. It cools perfectly when I hook to a hose. Am I missing something here?

to check for the pump deal…run water thru the motor thru the extended fitting in the pump…if then seal is leaking…you will see it top left against the transom.

Not the seal that causes cavitation.

The seal that keeps water from the pump pickup to the hull bulkhead. It’s easy to miss and will not keep water pressure into the cooling hoses.

Are you referring to the small oring?,

Yes, that’s the seal I was thinking. I removed the pump and the seal looked ok. I ordered a new one anyway. Is there a trick to installing the pump? I reinstalled it twice but it’s still not cooling, hopefully a new seal works

I had similar issue. For mine the water inlet at the head was clogged preventing the water from the pump from entering the engine. It cooled fine on the hose because the hose water didn't route through that hose. I pulled the fitting from the head and could see all the buildup that clogged the water pathway.

Thanks Racerx. The elbow was plugged from sitting so long, I replaced the gasket and oring on the pump anyway. Thanks for all the help
