New to this site and the sea-doo world. So I recently purchased a 2002 gtx ltd for me and the kids, more me I think. It ran great the first couple of times I used it. But just the other day i had issues. It started fine when first launched. Then after riding for a while it would not shit off by pushing stop button, key had to be pulled off. It then stated and stopped fine a couple of times. Then when I attached the lanyard nothing, no beep no nothing. Only thing that showed up on the display was the time.

I did not have time to look at before leaving for home. So i am asking for your advise on what to check first. Going to start with fuses and wiring, from what I have read on other posts. If not that not sure where to go next. I myself am not to good at repairs but luckily my father is.

Thanks in advance for any and all information about this issue. Joey Saskatoon, Sask

Well, welcome to the site. There are a lot of great people here with a lot of knowledge.

To start you off, you'll need to read up on your ski and how it works. You can get access to free digital tech manuals at this site: http://www.sea-doo.net/Specifications/index.asp

If you need parts, make sure to call them and tell them you are a forum member ... good for a 10% discount.

Until you get the hang of navigating the online manual, here's a shortcut to help you with your problem:

Don't forget to reply when you solve the issue.

Update

Turns out after checking all fuses and power supply lines for damage it was a dead battery. I guess I should have started with the most simple thing first. Thanks. This site is great for learning about my seadoo.

Always a good place to start ... the battery. Get as much riding in before all the lakes freeze up there ;-) I spent the summer of '01 up in Cold Lake ... beautiful up there!
