2002 GTI at half throttle starts missing

My 02 gti cranks easy an runs fair till about 1/2 throttle then starts missing and runing rough and will never plane out. Replaced plugs. Had damage to impeller and ring but I replaced them and did not help the runing problem. Could the impeller problem (rock i guess) have caused the problem? any help. Thanks

Its time to rebuild the carburetor. Or have a local shop do it.
If DIY, lots of posts in the How-to section. Symptom suggests to me the diaphram
is shot, Buy a OEM carb kit.

O K Thanks. Mine has the gray fuel line also. I wasn't riding it when the impeller damage was done and i can't get the full story.Seems the problem started at that time. Thought maybe the rock in the impeller might have let it damage the woodruff key and effect it a little bit. Also I have been over the years charging the battery with it hooked up.

check the volts at battery, holding 5500rpm.

13.5 - 14.5 volts.

checked the volts @ around 5000 and getting 14.

conventually, had an issue, similar to yours. Volts showed high 13's, but perfromed like bad rectifier. Disconnected red wire, and whamo, ran perfect. Replaced rectifier, and its good again........installed old rect in, checked volts, and boom, up to 15'z, turned ski off, turned on, checked again, bamm, in 13's...?
