2001 Seadoo XP - bogs down

Help... A bit of history. I am not ASA certified or any watercraft repair experience. However, with youtube I have fixed many problems. with my Harley, the Youtube advice is 100% accurate. Not "it could be this, or that, or that." 2001 XP. For the 1st 6 years it ran flawlessly. However I beat the XP, highest speeds, Sharpe turns, full underwater bury and 80 degree launch from underwater. Then, the XP would bog down at highest speed or sharpest turns. Had rebuilt engine installed. No problems for 2? years. Started same bogging down at full speed. Took it the Seadoo shop again, they "fixed" it. 1 year later same issues. Back to Seadoo shop, Tech said of I know what this is. However, same results, 1 year then bog down returns. Took to independent shop, same results. What is going on? Like the Harley example above (1) fix suggestion, the problem never recurs and there is no "could be this or that, or that." Is there anyone out there that knows exactly what the fix is? Please don't reply with 2-3 options. It cannot be this complicated. Thanks, in advance

Ok....... There is no simple answers when it comes to a Seadoo.
First does it have grey fuel lines?

There are many causes for your "bog".

Compression numbers?
Fuel lines?
Carb mixture settings?
Rectifier?
Carb filters?
Bad gas?
Etc...

Not the best way to start your first Seadoo forum post. Basically demanding a 1 line absolute fix answer. Ask a question and take in the knowledge that the members and experts share. They are not there with you so can not say THIS IS your problem 100%. The experts here are great and very helpful

Your going to need someone with knowledge with the 951 engine.

He have a resident forum member(SaberToothSqrl) that is all 951.

Start with the basics and make sure no one is chasing tails.
What is the compression. A healthy 951 is ~130.

Also, does it have grey fuel lines and if they do start there along with fuel selector.
I would also advise of carb rebuild.

Theses are simple machines but there is a systematic approach to diagnose problems that have occurred many times over.

Also, it helps using paragraphs to follow along.

This should help us tell you were/what to do next

well mike, looks like you have a real problem, so far you havent really told us much at all, except 1st 6 years was flawless, then engine was rebuilt and ok for 2 years, then seadoo fixed , good for a year, then independent shop, fixed for a year, --- but your leaving out some details, what was done to your ski ?????????????? only thing you told us here that engine was rebuilt, so now, your rebuilt engine is now 4 years old, and your ski is now 12 years old, and your motorcycle runs good .....what kinda car you got ???? is it running good ??? i really think you should take the motor off the harley and put in the seadoo and ride it with one of there doo rags on your head, maybe even getya a seadoo tattoo...................shake and bake .................

Here is your answer
12 year old SEADOO = Complicated
Its never that easy. Probably Fuel system related. The experts on here are the best on the net but you need to give alot more information. Look at the bills you paid the repair order should have details on what was done to your ski

All hilarious replies and spot on. So in order... I did say 'please' in the initial email, so did not intend to start my thread with a demand :) My references to the harley, was not to brag, but show my confusion as 'how can fixing the harley can be so simple' and the XP so complex? What I was hoping for, as an example; "pull out the black cable next to the water pump and replace it", As if there is a known/easy fix. Just frustration on my part, with multiple trips to the Seadoo shop and others. Unfortunately, I was young (dumb) and didn't listen to what was fixed, just wanted to get the ski back in the water. Now I understand that jetski's are complex. I truly appreciate all your suggestions, especially the change engines with the harley (too funny). I'll drag the XP to the local shop and open my wallet. Thanks again.

Dont give up yet and take it to the dealer. Do you have the grey fuel lines to start? and can you get a compression reading on the motor?

Yes, dealerships are the worst! Let us help you at least diagnose and do a few minor things anyone can do before you drag it to the dealer. First...

Compression?
What color are the fuel lines?
Have u cleaned the rave valves?
Ever cleaned the carburators?
Changed spark plugs?

Y'all are very patient and helpful. My current challenge is double ACL surgary last week (timing is everything), so not able to get started on this for about 1 month. So, next month, I will start with draining the fuel, I put seafoam in, is that bad? Then the fuel lines, then carb. No clue what a rave valve is but will try to clean (youtube). Did changed plugs, fuel filters 2 X's. No change. No compression tool. Have a pipe wrench and duct tape though :)
Anyway, I will check back with y'all in a month and give you a status. Much obliged to your professionalism.

Its too late after you put it in. It has detergents to separate oil. You have a two stroke that lives off the oil...............
