2001 GTX GPS MOD

I have a 2001 GTX and speedodmeter not working.
I have not had it in the water yet this season but think the paddle sensor is bad.
My question is: If I put a GPS mod on will that bypass the speed sensor?
Will the anolog gauge work?
First timer with Seadoo, Big boater for many years and just got into waverunner.

Yes, it no longer uses the paddlewheel.
Candoo is the brand that has the GPS conversion.
