Help!. My barely used machine was running really poorly as we took it out of the water last season. In getting it ready to go here is the list of issues I have uncovered.
1. the silicon exhaust hose that connects to the muffler ( yes the really expensive one ) has a gaping hole in it .
2 the hose that runs from the soleniod valve to the air intake adaptor touched something really hot as its melted as piece
3. The Pressure regulator assembly ( looks like a rave valve) had come apart , ie the wire spring retaining clip was off allowing the cap to come off and the spring to pop out.

I am guessing that the pressure must have risen in the exhaust system to cause all of these problems . But why? What can I check out ? I didnt have a fault code or maintenance alarm. something must be restricted but where to start?

Any insight or help much appreciated.

if your exhaust is melted, usually it means your cooling system plugged. lack of cooling melted the exhaust hose... :(

I'd flush it out once you repair it.

Squirrel is correct, cooling system malfunction will stop water from entering the exhaust and stuff will overheat. Also check all other plastic/rubber parts on the way to the transom.

Make sure the engine drain hose isn't plugged up with debris and all other goes-into's and out-of's.....

Make sure, or it will overheat. Also check the temperature sensors, maybe you should've had an alarm.

Download the BRP shop manual if you haven't already, tells you how to test the sensors plus an entire gold mine of detailed service info.
