2001 Challenger 2000 Opti 200 running 10mph slower

Used to hit 51mph. Now I max out at 40mph. Does anyone know the max rpm for this engine? I suspect i'm missing on a cylinder...how do I troubleshoot? any suggestions are appreciated.

Full throttle RPM max is 5650, but the manual states a range from 5150 to 5650 is fine depending on the size and weight of the boat the engine is installed in. For the Challenger you should be right at the top of the scale. I get around 5600 in my Utopia

If you have not changed the plugs in a while start with them and your fuel filter. Two-strokes can be very sensitive to spark plugs.
