I was wondering if anybody knew if I pulled out the broken l c d to replace it if that affects anything electronically or Idol or vacuum or anything on the Sea-Doo with that missing. Because I pulled it out and now it's idling really high and I have to do an emergency shut off and I didn't know if it was associated to that gauge cluster being Disconnected by chance? Thank you for any help

I got a 2001 and 2002 rxdi both of them had bad LCD displays and I pulled them out now I'm doing some repairs and I'm getting idling issues and high-revving and stuff like that. Would any of that have to do because I pulled that instrument cluster out or have I just found a new problem I have to figure out? I just didn't know if pulling that out would have anything to do with making the rxdiI not function properly. Thanks for any help

I wouldn't rule it out completely but I have run a couple of injected skis with the instrument cluster disconnected. I also read stories about a bad instrument cluster causing engine problems. So, no help.

If your DI idled up... hmmmmmm. That's just strange. How is your throttle cable adjustmentt? Give it some slack and see if it changes.

I'd be REALLY surprised if disconnecting a guage/cluster had any effect on the actual running of the engine / idling....they should not be related.

Engine idling is a "mechanical" process.....it shouldn't give a crap if a guage is connected or not....I am not aware of any type of "feedback" from a guage to affect the idle.

BUT, I have been known to be wrong about a great many things in my life...so I can't say definitively 100% not related, but 99.9999% sure not related!

On all the 2 strokes including DIs, the gauge is not part of the computer driven functions. It merely takes input values and interprets and displays them with no output back to the mpem.

On newer 4 strokes, completely different as the cluster is an integral part of system and has to be there to run on all 2006 and newer.
