2000 Sportser 1800

I am a newbie to boating and obviously then Seadoo's.:(

My wife and I are looking for a boat to purchase for the family for weekend fun at the cottage.

I have found a 2000 Sportser for sale:

I would appreciate any and all comments on this boat (both good and bad), and what to look out for and what information to ask when talking with the seller.

I am mosting concerned with the motor and drive, I am a mechanically inclined person and can do most general repairs/maintenance on my trucks my self.

I have been reading on this formum and looked at the one guide that was posted for use jet ski purchasing.

Thanks in advance

hey, thats an awesome look'n boat. I had both the Challenger 1800 and still have the Sportster 1800, and if i new the "engine cover hatch" would've fit from the Challenger to the Sportster, i'd done it.

I dig my Sportser, but it has the 2-rotax, not the Mercury, so best advise is, to water test it. If they're hesitant about that, then walk away...

Thanks

In lieu of a water test, I guess survey would suffice?

I am trying to get the number of hours on the boat, service record, etc.

Apparantly it was fully serviced in 2007 and used once last year. In full service was is usually done?

Anything else I should know?
