have a 2000 xp with carbs. have the oil block off kit. i got the oil pump off and im confused now, there is the hose with the spring inside it with oil running through it from the oil reservoir, and then there is the two small lines going to the pump as well.

How do i hook up the oil line to the rotary valve to keep it lubricated?

They block off kit i have came with the blue block plate, 2 screws, 2 washers and 2 little plastick block off caps, could you please help me figure this out and get me ski running and on the water.

Many Thanks, Andy

The 951 does not have a rotary valve, it uses a simpler reed valve system that doesn't require oil. The 2 small oil lines are where the block off caps will go, the rest of the entire oil system can be removed, including the tank. Remember to remove the plastic drive gear behind the oil pump.

Why are you switching to premix? Are you racing it? The oil injection system is very reliable with very little maintenance. I see many more skis with oil starved issues on premix than I do with oil inj systems.

Thanks for the info on the rotary valve, i was unaware of that. im switching to premix because the pistons fried due to lack of oil because the pump went out, plus there is no way to tell when riding if everything with the pump is working, no lights to indicated loss of oil flow so i just feel safer pre mixing. not racing it.

one other question, does the plastic drive gear just pop out or do i have to remove that front metal piece?

I have a 00 xp and I never removed the plastic peace I just put the plate on it's not a problem to leave it there and just put the cap on it's got like 50 hrs like that with no issues

Oh ok cool! Thanks man. You have the same style color ski i have. i love its looks, it sick.

Whats a good way to block off that oil hose with the spring in it, my block off kit didnt come with a rubber piece for that?

Remove the oil take and the line that's connected to it you don't need it there anymore and as for the two small lines that go to the carb u can cap them off with the caps from the kit or plug them or connect them together

you can leave the plastic piece in there but it will bounce around in there and get chewed up. I have heard of it lodging in the starter bendix and causing problems but most likely it will just get shredded to pieces and be fine. If it were mine, I'd remove it, but it's up to you.

the oil line with spring in it should get completely removed along with the tank.

are you sure your pump failed? I ask because I hear that all the time and almost always they are wrong and it is because of some other simple reason like, using non synthetic oil, ran oil tank too low and got air in lines, wore a hole in or broken oil line due to being old, etc.

im not positive that it failed, i only used seadoo oil synthetic, never let tank run low. i just feel more secure pre mixing after spending the money on a brand new top end. if i have the money in the future here i might buy a new oil pump but there like $200 i think.

As far as the piece behind the oil pump, does it just pop out? because i dont want it shredding or anything
