I have a 2000 GTX RFI and after it runs 2 minutes it has a flashing red light and say engine temp hot and turns off. Will not restart. After it sits a few hours it starts again and runs 1-2 minutes and same thing. Where do i start? I work on cars well but am not sure on these what to do. Please help

I would check the temp sender first... but if it checks OK... then you have to go over the cooling system to make sure things are working.

If you are running it in the water and it O/H in 2 minutes than it is not drawing in water or it is not circulating. You might try running it with the flush/garden hose connected. The pressure from the hose may remove the blockage. When the ski is running and the cooling system is working properly you should see a piss size stream of water spraying out of the little hole located just below the rear cleat where you connect the ski or tube pull rope. You will have to trace the entire cooling system starting at the jet pump to find out what is blocking the flow of water. Good luck.
