2000 seadoo gtx dies at 3000 rpm

Hello all, I recently rebuilt my 951 carbs using the carb rebuild guide and confirmed my popoff pressure to be 25 psi which is factory standard on my carbs and ski model. However, the engine has still been dying if it exceed 3000 rpm so it is leaving me a little confused on what the current issue is with the carbs. Any ideas will help. Thanks.

Sounds like the same issue from your thread last year, does it still get better when you pull the choke?

Have you checked compression lately? I’ve been reading through your past threads and I think you have been having a fuel issue since the beginning, Check that first. Are you using the green flexible clear like for the pulse line or any of the fuel lines? I seen in earlier posts that you have a possible air leak and as mentioned in the other threads that clear line is notorious for getting hard, brittle and leaking, I find not quite the right size from new. The pulse line needs to be automotive grade black ridgid fuel line, can’t think of the ratings without looking. The clear line absorbs some of the pulse and you have been having issues with your fuel pump.

A couple other things is your carb rebuild kits. Some places are very good at making it sound like they are genuine mikuni rebuild kits when in fact t they are replacement kits that are supposed to work for mikuni carbs, the aftermarket kits simply will not work correctly, I’d be interested to know where you purchased your kits from. Also what your high and low speed settings are? But you absolutely need to have a good quality fuel line like the continental fuel lines for your pulse line and I’m guessing the new fuel lines you put on are th translucent ones since they are cheaper than the good line? And I’ve seen them cause problems first hand where they just won’t seal up on the fittings.

Compression test, proper lines and kit, factory settings, so your tests after rebuilding as mentioned in the carb rebuild thread. Will save you a bunch of running around in circles.

I used genuine mikuni parts and the fuel line I got is from duralast, it is the rigid black hose. I got a compression kit this morning and I am about to test it. My screws are set to factory right now.

Hey, just had another thought, without looking in my mikuni carb manual I think 1 or 2 of the small holes that go into the carb throat are transition circuits to transition from low to high circuits. When you cleaned the carbs were you getting a good flow of carb cleaner coming out those holes when you were spraying carb cleaner into the low speed circuit at the pilot jet opening? I may have a quick little read later tonight to check if in fact those holes serve that purpose but I do know for sure they are part of the low speed circuit.
