2000 GTX twin carb model stalling periodically at low idle possibly accelerator pump?

I just purchased a 2000 GTX (twin carb model) that starts and runs great 90% of the time. However periodically it bogs down and stalls when you slow down quickly. It will restart but if you punch the gas it stalls out again. If you feather the throttle you sometimes can get it to go. Also if you pull the choke out for a second and hit the gas it takes off. Once you are moving it never stalls while going just occasionally whe you let off the gas. Carbs were rebuild 2 years ago when tempo fuel lines were removed. Im told it could need a carb rebuild or possibly its the accelerator pump. Looking for advice on what to do next in order to isolate the problem. Thanks

I've been hearing the same thing about my symptoms.. could be a carb rebuild could be an accel. Pump not sure

Sounds exactly like a plugged accelerator pump to me. Also idle could be set a little low causing it to stall when coasting to a stop.

Is the idle for those suppose to be set at 1400? Now that you mention it I think mines a little low @1100 in the water.

Does anyone have a link to or intructions on how to test, unplug or replace the accellerator pump?

The idle should be 1,400 in the water.

Remove the airbox and with a mirror look into the carb throat. When you pump the throttle you should see a squirt of fuel from the brass spray jet into each carb.

Dumb question likely but does the ski have to be running to do this? Also how hard is it to replace the accelerator pump?

I'll change my idle and see if that fixes the problem but if not how would I replace that accelerator pump? Anyone have any videos or instructions

Ski needs to be off.
See if it works before you get ahead of yourself replacing it.

The idle is adjusted with the ski running. I use a tiny tach out of the water at 3,000 rpm or just by speed in the water so it’s at about 5 mph or 1,400 rpm.
