I really need a answer to this I'm trying to get my engine in the ski today and I'm stuck the intake and reed cage on my DI dosnt have a gasket the cage sits in the cyclinder and the boot flange bolts over it when I took it apart there was a sealer I don't know what to use when I put it together ??? I have heard peramtex high tack? The last thing I want to do is have a leak in a new engine
Thanks

The manual will tell you all sealants to use.
ThreeBond 1211 is always a safe bet too.

I dont remember using a sealant on mine. I would agree that a thin film of 1211 will work, but I did not need it, and my pressure test went perfect.

Those pieces are rubber coated. I always use silicone grease. I use it on all o-rings too. It makes them last longer.

Chester is correct. If you ever read your cars owners manual it even says to use DI-electric (silicone) grease on your door seals that are also neoprene like o-rings.
