2000 GTI Start/Stop Button - not available!?

Hi All,

Looking to replace the start/stop button on my 2000 GTI as I think it is starting to go bad. When I check resistance with the button firmly depressed it bounces all over. That also translates to the starter cycling if you don't press the button just right. I went online to order thinking it was no big deal only to find the part is no longer available? Is this true? Is there an alternate button that is known to work or am I relegated to buying used parts from eBay?

Should by widely available, search Seadoo "start stop switch" on ebay or OSD Marine. Al lot of times the part numbers get replaced with a newer number.

That what I would have thought, but any time I search for a button the descriptions clearly exclude the 2000 GTI. Here is an Amazon example:

I can't imagine why they would be different...any ideas?

I wouldn't read into that, my 96' GSX is excluded, but the GS, GSI and late model GSX is included. 2000 GTX and GTI are the same hull so you're good.

Right, just as the 1997-2000 GTI are the same like the 1996-?? GTX hulls...it didn't make sense to me that the '00 was excluded and the description was adamant it only worked for the specific years mentioned. I'll give it a go and worst case I guess I'll return it!
