Runs great on trailer but put it in the water it dies???????

Start with a compression test

Check Compression
Check ground
Check water box
Check the carbs

Can you go straight from the muffler to out the exhaust port? Compression is at about 120 ,ground is good, just dont know if the fuel is set right.
