There is a 1999 GS for sale of $100 that only has no motor. I found a good running 787 on ebay for 575 and I was wondering if it is a direct swap....... or is it too much of a hassle? I am looking for a decent fixer upper for my father and I to work on a bit, and enjoy it.

No. You would have to fiberglass all new motor mounts. There is no way it would be worth it.
