1998 XP Limited flush port - has wrong threads?

I am looking at a 1998 XP Limited and bought a flush adapter part that said it replaces the 295 500 473. I was expecting it to thread into this port shown in the image below however, it doesn't fit. The part I bought has threads like a garden hose. Is that not the flush port? Is it the one above?

where the arrow is pointing doesn’t look like it goes anywhere. The flush port is the where the water is exits the engine. You could just follow the hose back from the engine. Do you have a fitting in that area that a garden hose would fit to? If so, then that’s the one

Make sure you never have the water hose running with the engine off. Turn engine on, turn hose on, turn hose off, shut engine off. And only run it on the hose for 30 seconds or so, it’s not meant to run the machine out of the water, it’s only for back flushing

The big hole at the top is the one where install the flush line.

The flush port is on the left side of the pump. The pic you are showing is on the right side of the pump. The end of a garden hose will thread right into it.
