I have a 98 XP and I was wanting to know if the oil to gas ratio should be 40:1? My ski is not getting any gas. I have changed the gas hoses and still not getting any gas to the carbs. I have taken off the carbs to clean them and still no gas. What else should I do?

If you are converting to pre-mix... yes, 40:1 is right.

Your fuel selector valve is probably plugged up. Take it apart, and check it.

Did you rebuild carbs? Dr Honda is right Fuel selector!!! I had to replace mine! You can try to put it on reserve and try it.

Selector switch is working fine. I'm not getting any gas to the carbs though. Still have the grey lines, dont know what size to change them out with. If I prime it then the engine will run for a few seconds.

Got pressure on the gas lines and got the gas going to the carb. I think there could be a problem with the carbs because the pressure just releases.

What do you mean "because the pressure just releases"? If you are just pressurizing the supply side of the carbs remember that there is a return line back to the tank. If you don't fully pinch of this line the excess fuel that can't get into the carb quick enough will simply bypass it and go back to the tank.

Although it may not cover your exact model of carb I have found the Mikuni Super BN Owner's Manual helpful at explaining how the carbs are supposed to work and showing the schematic of how they are plumbed.

A full carb rebuild may be in order to replace all of the diaphragms and seals, not to mention the needle valve and spring.
