1998 seadoo speedster starter issues on 1 of motors

I took my starter out and rebuilt it. Put back in and get a few spins then clicks. The other motor turns over fine. What could be the problem?

I had the same issue many many years ago, replaced my battery and it worked just fine. My starboard engine would fire right up, port side was a big nope. Also if I remember correctly the engineers share a ground. It goes from one magneto housing to the other. If that's corroded or compromised it could cause issues.

Thanks. Where is the magneto? And what does it do?

It's at the front of the engine. What engines are in your boat?

When u say ground, is this a large black wire that connects to the mag cover on both engines?

No, it's probably 14 gauge, it's this. It's not a battery cable size.

Ah ok yea 14 gauge is pretty small. Could that cause one engine to halt abruptly while riding?
