1998 Gtx Ltd 12V Low warning

Hey guys, I just installed my carbs back in after being rebuilt, ski started up immediately and sounded good. I am now getting the 12V low warning light. The battery was fully charged and I even tried another battery and I’m getting the same warning light. If it’s the rectifier, mine is built into the MPEM and I didn’t know if there was any workaround other than the external upgrade from osd marine. Someone stated you could depin and install an external rectifier without needing a harness. Is this true? If so, could someone instruct me on how to do so? I have no idea what would need depinned and how it would plug up. Thanks.

You can check if it is the rectifier by doing this with a multimeter
put the multi meter (dc voltage setting) on the battery and you should be above 12vs, start the ski and measure the voltage, it should be in the 12v range maybe low 13v range, rev it up to 5500 RPM, it should read high 13v to about 14.5 volts ish, if it goes over 15V then it is bad, it voltage doesn't go up when start reving, it is bad.

If unsure, post what voltages you get at each stage, we'll help you out.

Thank you, I will give this a try this weekend!
