Hey guys I bought this ski to flip and now I'm having the craziest problem. First off when I got the ski, the motor was toast. It had been taken apart and all the parts were just laying in the hull. So after breaking it down further I saw the stator was destroyed. Now long story short, I used that motor for a core on another project and built another motor with parts I had laying around along with new top end, rotary gear and new aftermarket stator. Put everything together, started it up and it ran like a champ. For about 5 min! I was blowing the main fuse so it narrowed it to the stator. Opened it up and the all the coils had fallen off the plate. So I called place I got stator from and he sent me a new one. This time I used red lock tite on all screws. Reassembled and this time it lasted about 10 min. Same result. What have I done wrong? Please help! I sold it but I'm trying to make it right.

Well obviously the first problem is you are using crap Chinese aftermarket electrical parts.

The second issue is that you should put enough time on the ski before you sell it that you are certain everything is like it needs to be, that's what I do and I very rarely have one come back to bite me in the ass.

I agree on the A/M part, I have an OEM one on the way. The parts dealer swore it was quality. Live and learn I suppose. Second, no need for smart comments on my time invested. I put the time in and can guarantee no one goes the extra mile on things as I do. I'm learning on what's junk and not. I tested the ski thoroughly with no issues so I thought it was good to go... Soo Don't be a computer cowboy, but thanks for part of your comment.

You stated the ski ran 5 minutes the first time and ten minutes the second time, that's a total of 15 minutes.

Now the rest of the guys here might kiss your ass and tell you things that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside but I ain't that guy and I don't see them replying to this thread, cowboy up !.

WFO is a wealth of good knowledge. With that being said you have been pretty abrasive this week with some of the noobs.
We don't want to become like some of the other forums around here.
Remember at one time we were the noobs.
