So had my GSX winterized and went to take it out this weekend. Started it and ofcourse did not really turn over..So then went to add some choke and I head a loud pop almost like a backfire. After some looking and the help from another guy we discovered the drvieshaft had snapped in two. Now the question is does this happen often as this this is a very low hourly ski? Also could the work they did in winterrizing it cause the problem? I drove it over to a ramp up on the trailer then to the repair shop.

thanks

It probably wasn't an issue with the winterizing. It could have been bent before... or the pump could have froze up.

Its a small world haha, the break was at a 45 degree angle which would indicate torsion so im thinking the pump siezing or impeller getting wedged in place would be the cause.

Was the ski used in salt water? If so is there a lot or corrosion on the drive shaft?
