1998 GSX Limited Fuel Gauge

Hey,

New to the forums and have a question...

I have a 1998 GSX Limited that has a broken fuel gauge. Basically the 10 or so bars for fuel level are empty. So, whether it is a full or empty tank, there are no bars. All other gauges work but the fuel gauge. I checked all fuses and they seem to be fine? Is there a common solution that I should check before I take it to some place to get fixed? Thanks for any and all help.

I've attached a picture of the gauges in case the type of gauges makes a difference.

Possible Fuel Baffle

Had the same problem with my 98 GTX Ltd. I had check for resitance on the fuel baffle connector and had none, it turned out the bottom of the fuel baffle fell off and the float dropped out. Tried putting the float back in and resealing the bottom of the baffle but no luck, it still did not work. Bought a new fuel baffle, $189.00 CDN, took about 1/2 hour to replace, 4 small hose clamps and two larger clamps to hold it to the fuel tank. Easy access through the glove box above the fuel tank. No fuel leakage at all. It works great now.
