I am sure this has been discussed all over the place but I Couldnt find anything under the search engine for this. Might not of had the settings right.

I have a 97 XP with a 787 that has a bullett head, velfor breathers, and a factory pipe. This is all I can tell you about it cause this is all I Can see at the moment I have owned this ski aprrox a month.

The motor blew couple of weeks ago. The front cylinder has 0 compression the PTO cylinder has 90 PSI. I was thinking about doing an SBT motor but with the unknown factor of what type of crank is in it the extra cost might be a killer. The motor still turns over and it not seized but again with the unknown factor I belive a complete rebuild will be a good idea. Then I KNOW.

Heres my question I keep seeing this "Hotrods" crankshaft. Is there anything "HOT" about it? or is it just a new stock crank?

please note I am not tring to start a debate over what is better. I just tring to see if there is mechanicly anything different as I cant find specs on anything.

Thanks in advance

"hotrod" sets will give a longer stroke adding chamber space, and basically outputting more power....simply said....you can also get "hotrod" piston and connecting rod sets...the piston will be shorter and the rod will be longer!!!

So can I make the assumption if someone is talking about a stroker 787 this is what they are talking about? or something all together different?

if you can get your hands on a stroked 787, do it.... it will have all this and more usually there bored a lil over, to the next piston size too... it will scream!!!

What I had was a screamer. I have a stock 97 xp and it was probley a good 10mph faster then the stock one. I had a lot of fun running people down in it when they did stupid stuff.

So to continue with this discussion. If I went with the hotrod crank and pistons with the bullet head could I still run on pump fuel. I dont mind paying for the 92+ octane fuel I just dont want to jump to anything I cant get at the pump.
