My 1997 Speedster has a leak near the oil tank. I thought it was leaking out the top of the oil sensor fitting. But found that it's really leaking out the check valve! If I pinch the hose off witht he check valve on it, the leak stops. It's made a mess of the engine compartment.
Is it just a matter of replacing the check valve (used to test the oil tank for leaks)?? Or could I pump some air down into the system to clear the valve. Wondering why the oil would push back up into the line like that.
Thoughts?

Check valve?

It sounds like your describing the vent check at the top of the tank. Your fitting at the bottom, that feeds your engines rotary chambers and injection systems is not leaking, correct? If so, then you could be getting blow by pressure from one of the engines, pushing the oil through the vent line.

The biggest reason you see oil from this valve is from over filling the oil tank, then while riding, jumping waves and sloshing the oil around.

Try leaving your oil tank 3/4 full or less. See if you have the same problem. Also, when you start the motor, look at your oil vent line from your engines rotary chambers. That oil should be at gravity height to the level in the tank. If you see the oil in one of those lines try to rise, then you may have blow by from a motor, putting pressure behind the oil in that line, blowing it through your check.........
