Hey guys so I bought a 97 seadoo xp jetski an its turning into a nightmare. I am have a problem with the rear box 15amp fuse blowing on me without even putting key into the dess post. The wires get hot an fuse an just blows everytime. Red n Yellow wire its hot also. Right when i connect the battery even stator wires and cover gets hot. Please any help would be great im ready to give up on it already.

-Also i have no power now when i install key into dess post, but i can jump starter soleniod an it cranks over fine.

Thanks, Andrew

Try disconnecting the VTS and then see if the fuse still blows. If it does, remove the MPEM and check for continuity between pin 26 and pin 12 and also between pin 26 and 13 at connector 2 on the MPEM. If there is continuity, the main power circuit in your MPEM is grounded. Report back.

Thanks for the post Chester.

Ok, I unplugged the vts an it still blew the fuse. So i plugged that back in an checked the wires. Pin 26 is hot but 12,13 are not. The three wire all yellow plug coming off the rectifer the Pin C is hot an when i plug that in theres a click noise from the stator cover. Then everything gets hot. The same thing happens if i unplug the six wire plug from stator it cools off then when I reconnect it the light click an everything gets hot agian.

What's the next step I should try.

Anyone have some advise on this? i also tested the dess post theres no power going to the plus or any of the gauges also. I'm trying to figure out if its the mpem or not..

have you checked the stator wires to see if there shorted to ground? Mine was had the same problem. Dissconnect the connector that goes on the stator cover and see if it still gets hot.

Yeh i tried that it doesn't get hot, Also now the dess post all three wires are hot an still no power to gauges or post nothing. I'm thinking the mpem is messed up. Someone bought a new one already because it says made on 2003 so i don't know

Your answer isn't clear here. Did you check for continuity between pin 26 and pins 12/13?
