1997 Seadoo GTI no start

Bought this ski (97 GTI 720 single carb) after it had sat for a couple years. New battery and it cranks, no beep from the MPEM though, cleaned the carb, has black fuel lines. It’ll spit and pop some but won’t start, and the battery seems to die pretty quickly.

Any ideas on where I should start checking first?

Start with a compression test, if that’s good try some pre mixed fuel in the plug holes

It’s got good compression, I tried a little gas down the carbs and seemed like it was more harmful than good, didn’t make a difference. Seems like it might be flooding itself out

What was the compression numbers? Have you looked for spark? Is this your first Seadoo?

Not my first Seadoo, 120/125 for compression. Good spark on both plugs

120 and 125 is pretty low. You should be able to get it to start on the trailer though. Will probably be quit difficult to start on the water. Since you have enough compression to start it on land and spark, you have a fuel delivery problem. When you cleaned the carbs, were you getting flow through the tiny low speed circuits into the carb throat? They tend to gum from sitting.
When you had the carb apart did you Che k to see if the needle or oring was leaking?
