Hello friends. Have another brain buster for ya. Going to try and run through this one myself.

Question: 3 times in a row now I’ll go out and the ski runs perfectly for 10 minutes. Hitting speeds of 50+. Then completely boggs down to the point of idle speed. The engine never shuts off, idles just fine, but I can barely move. I switched the fuel selector to RES and it ran fine for another 30 seconds and then did the same thing.

Any ideas?!

NOTES
-dropped $500 on a brand new wear ring, had it installed and pump serviced a week ago. Whole thing was looked over by the mechanic and engine is good.
-water I’m in is about 88 degrees and hotter in some spots.
-slower to turn over but once it runs it doesn’t stop unless I turn it off

how Recently have you gone through the fuel system? Sounds like fuel delivery issue. Maybe gummed up lines only letting very minimal amount of fuel through to maintain idle but not enough to run wot

That’s what I’m thinking...but my only question is, why does it run perfectly for the first 10 minutes every time? If it was the fuel delivery issue, wouldn’t it act up immediately?

I’m not positive that is a little fishy but it could be it clears the junk out at start up and over that ten minutes it just gummes itself back up? I’m just learning about these things too they are mysteries haha. I would go through fuel system as well as maybe a carb rebuild

I know of a couple of skis that run fine for 1/2 hour then start their crap. :) Strange things. Do you have an inline fuel filter in the system. I had one and that was my problem. Threw it away and the problem went away.

Not to sure about the fuel system. This one seems to “bog out” as, as I like to call it, about 8 minutes inn or about a mile of riding. Go goes from 50mph to about idle speed. So frustrating. Going to have all the fuel lines, oil line and carbs rebuilt this weekend. This thing is going to cost me a ton. But shit I love to ride.

My first ski purchase was last year. Spent a hell of a lot of time with the fuel systems on all my skis. Hope you get it sorted out so you can ride it like you stole it !! :)
