Ok well i want to make sure what the actual settings should be at to start on a 97 GTI 717.
The shop manual states the low speed at 1 3/4 out and High speed at 0.
But if you look at other reference charts like seadoo source carb reference chart is states.
Low speed at 1 out and high speed at 1 1/2 out.
What is the proper setting?
I am having problems right now with a bog i guess you call it. I had the pop off at set at 30 and it has like a 6 second delay when you hold the throttle down then it feels like the pop off popped and it goes fine if you hold the throttle. but if you let off and try again its the same thing or may get worse the more you try.
So i thought i would lower the pop off down to about 24 and initial take off was pretty darn close to snappy, but once again i let off on the throttle and try again and it bogs for 6 or more seconds then takes off.
I have rebuilt carb with genuine mikuni kit. Changed all the jets and needle/seat to be sure they are to spec and same issue.
Oh i have also changed the fuel selector. Compression is 140 on both cylinders.
So tonight i have changed all the fuel lines (They were black not grey) to clear lines so i can see if i am possibly getting air bubbles. I replaced the vent lines and verified with gauge the relief valve opens between 3-5 lbs pressure. Changed the pop-off back to 30 as i believe it was to low and leaking fuel. I noticed the lever for the pop off wasn't level to the housing.
Is there anything else i can look at before i start this thing and try another water test?
Any suggestions is good, cause i'm going crazy why this isn't working.
TIA
