1997 GSX Speedo Sensor not working

So I took out my GSX 800 for the first time and see the speedo doesn't work. I am assuming it is the sensor with the paddle wheel that is bad. Is there a way to test it? Can it be repaired if not does anyone know the part number for the replacement units?

I don' know of a good way to test it but you should make sure the wires are good and the paddle wheel spins freely. Even then they are not the most reliable thing.

I tested the paddle wheel and it turns easily. I think I will just purchase a new/used one
